Default Do you have to torque the sway bar end links?

Just wondering. I bought a set and I'm clueless as to how tight they should be.

Simply snugging the end links until the bushings just start to squish is fine. Don't crank them, that's a good way to destroy them (ask me how I know).

There is an official torque spec but I have no idea what it is.

^this. the most important thing is to make sure you tighten both side equally. it is easy to overtighten one side and induce some preload into one side of the bar and cause a weird "unsettled" feeling in the car

You will completely crush the bushings before you get a torque on them. I do it just until I see the bushing start to deform you could say.

^^ This.

My front ones were over tightened from the factory, and the long bolts were bent.

The spec only works on the GM bushings which are plastic. Urethane you cannot torque to spec, it will just deform. Snug is the answer.

With both sides of the car in the air replacing the sway bar bushings was extremely difficult. Hard to fit the top under bushing under the sway bar

Now that I think about this, I wonder if that is why my tires wear so hard on the outer edge, my lower control arms need to be adjusted outwards

When adjusting or mounting sway bar and related components, the suspension needs to be loaded.

Having the car on ramps is easiest. Either by driving it up on them or jacking it up and placing the ramps under the tires, then lowering it down

Then go to work on what you need to do
