Default Strano Brake Master Cylinder Brace

I've just got to say this piece is pretty high up there with noticeable mods. Reduces brake take-up when applying pedal significantly. Gets rid of the 'firewall flex' that kind of freaks me out. I have stock calipers and lines, slotted and drilled rotors with HPS pads.
Also very easy to install, I had complications with a cheap T50 socket(Great Neck) but a Harbor Freight 1/2in did the job. See photos
Great part, great service and fast shipping. Also comes with adapter plate if you do not have a tower brace.
I didn't get anything for this, just wanted to put it out there.

Yikes, another ad for Hazard Fraught tools!

I do appreciate the write up, and the pictures too. And I'm really, really glad to hear you are pleased with the brace!

Thank you for taking the time and offering your opinion.

It's crazy how much the firewall flexes and I will get one of these eventually. For those hex bit bolts i replaced them with nice stainless normal bolts so i dont have to mess with them.

No problem, I twisted the socket Sat night, HF is pretty much it for being open Sunday around here, wish I knew a Mac dealer.

I've never had grief with a Torx bolt before, going to be prepared to replace them next time. The depth for the tool is so shallow it just looks like trouble.

I replaced my torx bolts with normal ones too. I never could figure why those were different.

I installed the brace over the weekend and am very pleased. When the nuts in Atlanta cause me to have to get on my brakes, my pedal is now solid and responsive! I have a BMR STB and it fit perfectly and took all of 5 minutes to install. Thanks again Sam, I appreciate the engineering - I have plenty of your products on my 361,000 mile TA!

I got one a little over a year ago. I definitely like it. Shifting feels so much better.

I installed mine a few days ago. I haven't driven it yet so I can't tell you how much it helped yet. But it does not play well with an LT1 master cylinder. The leg that goes to the torx bolt is pushing on the master cylinder so hard, the bolt hols wont line up. So i has to leave the torx bolt out. Also, I guess the LT1 master is longer because the adjustment places the foot almost the way down. Still, it's on. I'll post how it feels when I get a chance to drive it.

Oh it's on a lot of LT1 cars. The thing that people don't really realize is the cars aren't exactly all exactly the same. Some are not very square some have been hit so on and so forth. The fact the foot is adjustable is to adjust for exactly what you got going on it doesn't have to be pushed out by 6 in.

That, I understand. I just wish I could get all the bolts on

How about a picture? But I would suggest just starting the rear bolt first before the front nuts, I think that might solve the issue in total. A you running a STB or using the spacer plate under the front feet?

These days I don’t go into any purchase thinking it’s going to bolt up because our cars weren’t exactly manufactured with the highest tolerances. If a bolt hole doesn’t line up, I drill/tap a new hole. If something doesn’t fit, the right tool will modify it to make it fit. Sometimes you get lucky and everything bolts right up.

I don't have any pics right now. The adjustment is so far down, I had to put the jam nut on the back. I'm not running a STB and I've tried it with and without the spacer. Doesn't make much of a difference as far as this problem is concerned. I can't slide it toward the driver side any more because its hitting the master cylinder with no bolts or nuts in it. The only way I see to get the bolt hole to line up is to elongate the hole.

Are you sure you have a stock MC? Mine installed in minutes without issues (on a 95 formula) and I had tonnes of room to adjust the brace part.
