Exclamation 2018 4 piston brembos on 4th gen?

Does anyone know or have any experience in putting the 4 piston 6th gen brambo's on a 4th gen? Will they work? Would I need a bracket or spacing? I have a local craigslist deal pending upon this info for a whole brake set from someone who converted to 6 piston and just wants to get rid of the 4 piston setup. Calipers, rotors, pads, lines, everything! Any info would help, Thanks!!!

Some info about the car:
2002 Z28
Bilstein/eibach shock/spring setup
2005 base C6 rims: Front: 8.5x18; Rear: 10x19
Rear wheels have 1" spacer

Check this thread. I think these calipers are the ones you are talking about. https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...ned-video.html

I think it really depends on which calipers and brake option code they are. Looking at 2018 Camaros there are several option codes for brakes. JL9 would be the same as the JL9 Corvette calipers and fit under 17" OEM wheels with 321mm / 12.6 inch rotors. But it looks like there are other option codes like J6H, J6M, etc that I'm not sure about. I'm guessing you could make any size work / fit under 18" wheels, but you'd need to find out what size rotors they come with to know for sure if they'll fit / how tight it will be. That is the critical dimension.

Based on this, it would make sense that all of the brake options at least have the same mounting points, which would be a huge advantage in fitment. The JL9's bolt right up, and it doesn't make sense from a cost standpoint for each option code to get a completely different mounting location.

OP, I know this is a bit late, but do you have the rotor dimensions? That would be helpful for us to at least give you a "maybe." Otherwise, you appear to be in uncharted waters.

I believe they definitely do all have the same mounting points - the main difference in the factory Brembos is the length of the mounting ears, to fit over different size rotors. As long as you match up the right size rotors with the caliper you're using, and have the LS1 / 98-02 spindles, and of course wheels that will fit over them, you're good to go.

So yes they will fit, drill out your spindle ears with a 14mm, use the corresponding rotor size like mentioned above (V6 brembo camaros use the 12.6, the Std SS`s use a 13.6 rotor) You`ll need new bolts of course to bolt the calipers in. Now here`s the deal with the rotors, they will not transfer from the 6th gen to the 4th gen, the fronts have a deeper offset (10mm) so a 2.40" hat depth vs the hat depth we need 2.110" The actual bolt pattern is 5x120, a little off from out 5x4.75 or 5x120.65.. Another issue with the SS rotors are the pilot holes are 67mm and we need 70.3mm to fit the 4th gens. So Chevrolet was kind enough to use the good ole 5x4.75 pattern and the 70.3mm pilot on the C7 vettes and they match up with the correct hat depth as well...they used the same 12.6/13.6 diameters in their JL9 and J55 cars. So use the C7 vette rotors with the 6th gen calipers and your all set. Anybody needing any Q`s answered just email at bigbrakeupgrade@gmail.com I`d be happy to help.

I can confirm fitment on a 1998 Trans Am WS6 with factory wheels and 20mm spacers. No need to grind stock studs as they fit into the pockets on the back of the wheels.
Amazon Amazon

The only issue I ran into was the inner lip of the rotor rubbing the caliper mounting bolts where they poke through the knuckle. I picked up some 14mm washers and put one behind each mounting bolt and no more clearance issues. I was able to get them at Tractor Supply.

I am running Raybestos 581612PER for reference

I hate asking questions like this, but what setup are your rears in the picture? They seem to be matching brembos, but I thought the irs rears don’t swap over to our solid axle cars? can you message me if you don’t want to post.

I’m in the same boat having done the front brembo upgrade already but on stock rears. I have custom adapters I purchased that allow me to run c7hubs, but I will loose abs when I actually do the swap. I want to upgrade the rears and run a proportioning valve when I do the swap. Car will see mostly track time.

Thanks
