Default Should I loop the power steering rack or leave it open?

1998 Camaro power steering delete

should I loop the rack with fluid in it?

should I loop the rack with no fluid in it?
or

should I not loop it and plug it?

yes I know I should get a manual rack... I will. This is only for a year or 2.

I'm thinking that converting to manual rack would also mean getting rid of tilt steering as manual steering can be hard on the components. If I'm wrong then chime in and let us know what all you did to convert over.

Guys.. this has been done like a million times. But I hear multiple people say different things on whether to leave it empty or loop the lines.

If you leave them open the rack will injest crap and die, some racks can lock if you just plug the holes, so I'd loop it with a breather.

The bigger question, why take the pump off? need room or something?

Taking it off off because I don’t need it. Car maybe sees 200 street miles a year, and then rest is going in a straight line.

Where and how how would I put a breather on it if I’m looping it..

Anytime i've seen guys do that they seem to loop it so it doesn't make a mess driving it around none were fbodys, mostly 240 guys with ls swaps, or rx7 guys with ls swaps.I would fill it with fluid and bled it the best you can then loop em without a breather.

Looping meaning connecting the two hoses together?
