What are brake calipers made out of?
Are they typically aluminum? I need to do some grinding. Looks like this;
I need to grind the one on the right, the Baer caliper. It's about 1/16" too big for my 18" wheels so I need to knock a hair off of those ridges. Going to rent a hand grinder and need to buy the right disk.

Arent stockers typically cast iron? (all cars, not just f-body)
I didn't realize those Baer calipers were aluminum. Their appearance in the pic would lead me to believe that they were cast iron (like a stocker). Typically, the aluminum calipers that I have seen are flat sided and boxy, not rounded with ridges.

Most calipers over the years have been iron. However, in recent years, many companies have started using aluminum calipers (many made by PBR who makes ours). And, almost all of your aftermarket calipers are aluminum as well (there will always be "one" so, I'll not say "all of them").
