Default rotor wont come off...

ok, i saw that my rotors had crackes in them and i am putting some stock ones on so i can send the cross drilled/slotted ones back to the company i bought them from so they can send me some new ones for free (good cumstomer service). but the drivers side rotor will not come off for the life of me, i tried everything imaginable and cant get it removed. the passenger side slid right off like it is supposed to so i cant understand why the drivers side wont come off. any help or advice is appreciated. if i cant get it off im just gonna raise the car and slam the back of the rotor with a hammer until it comes off. thanks in advance.

if you are worried about damaging the rotor put a piece of wood in the opening for the caliper on the back of the rotor an wack it with a hammer, turn the rotor a 1/4 turn and repeat till it breaks loose

Check out this thread for some info on how some people have gotten their rotors off. I also have some pics there of what my rotors looked like after they were removed (on page 2).

Glad I'm reading this thread. I'm about to remove my stock original rotors (57,000 miles) this weekend.

Use a rubber mallet and just beat the hell out of it turning the rotor every few strikes or so and it will come right off. Just did it last week and all is well.

I could not get my rotors off with a rubber mallet. And, yes, I did hit it pretty hard. Read the thread to which I linked if you want more info.

Spray the center with some nut buster and let it sit. Then heat the hub area near the studs. It should come off with a dead blow hammer or heavy rubber mallett then. That is usually how I do it. If I will not be reusing the rotor I use a 3 lb sledge.

Buy some "Liquid Wrench" and a rubber mallet....Works incredible

I spent a lot of time with a hammer and PB Blaster and nothing, then I broke out the Liquid Wrench and had it off in less than 5 minutes
