Holy Sh*t... pulley clearance with BMR K member?
Whoa ... I just got under the car to start cleaning and noticed this. Mind you this is the first time I ave been under the car really since my BMR was installed 4 weeks ago. The crank pulley is MAYBE 1/8" from the Sway bar. I flipped around and checked out the completely stock 98 Z vert and it has 2" at least between the 2. So maybe the BMR K member DOES drop the engine?! Or is there somehow a problem? I dont see how there could be but hell you never know.
I took a couple pics to show it as besst as I could. Dont mind the filth... Its getting cleaned right now. I'm armed with simple green, aluminum polish, black paint, etc.

Wow... never heard of anyone having to add to anything for a K member swap. Mine swapped right in and out. No problems at all. Too bad no one looked at the pulley. I wonder if its just pivoting forward for some reason.

I'm not really sure why it was like that, but there was no way to get a bolt in the knuckle with the factory legnth. Adding a 1/2" to it worked perfect, but I just don't understand how it could be off that much. Maybe my motor is lower also, and I've just never noticed. It looks ok?

I noticed the same thing with my Pro Fab K-member. I tried to put on the truck manifolds for the turbo set-up I am doing and it hit my steering knuckle. I also couldn't put on the truck oil pan.

I cant find a reason why it would be like this? I'm stumped. the mounts are in the car right. Its bolted up correctly. Hell who knows, I guess if its not hitting its not a problem. Also gives me extra clearance under the cowl. would be nice to wedge a roots blower in there.

If you are going to mess with the tranny mount, remember that you are also going to be changing that angle of your driveshaft. Anyone know the prefered angle of the driveshaft off hand? Just something to remember.....

Looks about the same amount of clearance that my stock LT1 had............except that thing had been in a pretty nasty wreck before I bought it.
Like jimmyblue said, what about shimming down the sway bar mounts?
