Need some imput on lowering car
Ive got a 2000 camaro z and i want to lower it. I think i made an unwise decision, because i bought the bilstien hd shocks and the eibach pro kit. I am hearing that those shocks are not good for those springs, should i try and get different shocks? or should i go with different springs? I do like the 1-1/2 inch drop and would like to stay with a spring that lowers the car that much. Are the kyb agx shocks good for the eibach spring? Any imput would help im a newbie in the suspension area thanks

i used that set-up for a few years on my 98. if all your doing is street driving, then you will be fine. if your doing any road racing, then look for a set of G2's. i've used both on the road course and much prefere the G2's. dont waiste your money on the BMR's.

i dont stoop to drag racing. and if your wanting a good launch, get some 12"-13" tall 5.5" diameter pigtail springs in a 150lb rate from your local dirt track supply shop.

i loved the ride w/ the eibachs. but to me, a car thats gonna be modified should work as good as any purpose built tool. i wanted my car to handle better, so i went w/ the G2's. if you want ride quality and handaling, go w/ the LG coilovers w/out a doubt.

FWIW, I have had the G2s and the Pro Kit on for extended periods of time. They rode the same, they handled near the same, they had the same ride height, not much difference IMO. I'm starting to think DMS or Hotchkis is the way to go.

If this is mainly a street car, keep what you bought. The car's not going to be worse than what you started with. If the rear starts to sag too low for your liking, then just get the ground control adjustable perch and springs for the rear. It's fairly cheap.

So far, so good for me. I sensed a "bottoming out" once in the front actually after going over a fairly big speed bump a little too fast...no biggie.

I have them both on my car. Before the boxed SFC's I really started to get annoyed with the handling characteristics. After the SFC's it became a totally different car. It rides like stock but with a little less travel. That's about the only way I can put it. The way I see it is lowering my car with the HD's just magnified the weak chassis that my car had before. Lot's of rattling and twisting. Not anymore. I'm very happy with my setup.

I just moved from Eibach Pro Kit and Bilstein HD's to WS6 springs with the Bilsteins. The Bilstein's were much better than stock with the pro kit, but the pro kit SUCKED. It was too low, and gave me about 1 inch travel in the front. I bottomed out on EVERYTHING. Launching SUCKED. There was not enough weight transfer to get the car to stick... even with the relocation brackets.
I must say for good treet/road it's very good, and for strip it is good, as long as you still expect to drive it on the street and be happy.
