Default subframe connectors...just got a set...

just got a set of BMR tubular subframe connectors for my birthday.....my friend derek knows how to weld so we were just going to do the install ourselves and save money. Any intstructions or directions available? tips?

Make sure you do it with the suspension loaded.

how long is the install? provided a lift and all the necessary tools with two people who work well with their hands and are pretty saavy......?

Its pretty easy. I did mine myself with four ramps and a mig welder.

I am assuming that this is basically how i need to do the install......

Remove front LCA bolt and let it hang, position the sfc on the LCA bracket and make a tack to hold it then lay a good bead around where the sfc contacts the sub frame and bracket... and then since the front of the sfc cannot move, just lay a good bead around it to attach the front sub frame.... then as previously stated, torque the control arm bolts to 90 ft/lbs.... there any stuff ive left out or is that basically it? semms like a pretty cut and dry install... thanks

Im not sure how the bmr ones are, but the easiest way it looks like to me for my umi ones is to take control arm out, slide sfc around bracket, put control arm back in with the bolts, that will hold that end in place, swing it up and then tack it in. Thats what looks easiest to me.

don't forget to grind the paint away where the welding will be taking place.

that way the car doesn't 'sag'
Plus its easier when just the wheels are on a lift rather than having the lift holding the car at the jack points, which are near where you will be welding..

Its actually the other way around, the car sags in the middle when on its wheels, this will stay the same if you weld while the wheels are holding up the car. If the wheels and frame are drooping while in the air the car will try to stay that way if welding is done in that state.
