creaking noise and a pop?

creaking noise and a pop? For the past week or so after driving my car for about an hour going home from work I hear this creaking noise like a rusty door hinge coming from the front end. Probably just springs but yesterday i brought my car to a stop to make a turn and something popped on the front drivers side like a rock hitting the bottom of your car but there was no rock. Dont know if the pop had anything to do with the creaking but it definitely worries me. Does anyone know what this is or is age taking its toll on my car?

Its hard to diagnose it without looking for myself. If I were you, I would jack up the car and inspect the suspension work. Check for missing bushings, etc. You could have had a bad bushing that just decided to crack apart and fall out. The best way to find out would be to look instead of guess.
