Got any pics? Maybe the STB was built incorrectly

I don't know what miles have to do with anything. But
when I installed mine I had to work at it. Like only get
the nuts barely on the two anchor stubs' studs so you
can wiggle them, put one of the cross bolts through,
use a Phillips screwdriver as a pilot for the other and
get the second one to go, and last of all tighten the
anchors down.

Now that the piece has been on the car for a few years
it comes off & goes on a lot easier, they got married
so to speak.

You could jack the car up by the K-member taking the weight off the front tires and therefore the strut towers, perhaps allowing them to move out or spread so you can get the STB on. Best of luck. My car had 6k on it when I put my Hotchkiss STB on it and it took some work to do.

Sell the the thing. They dont do anything for the car except add weight and get in the way.

The Hotchkiss bar settled down the cowl shake on my
convertible very nicely. Not so much that it added big
time rigidity, but it squelched the cross-body torsion
in only one "woggle" rather than letting it go woggle-
woggle-woggle every time I threw it around a corner.
That's 2 "woggles" for only $80 (used), what a deal.
I got a black one so it's basically invisible; the only thing
better than looking cool, is looking clean outtasight.
