Default Traction control yes or no?

Okay test drove some guys 97 trans am (A4). I asked if it had traction control. He said yea, i asked where the button was. His answer "there isnt one its automatic" I thought all traction controlled Lt1s had a on/off switch. Was he just thinking of the posi rearend or what? It scratched 2nd big so this leads me to belive he is.

Thanks for helpin my (somewhat) newbie *** out

if it has traction control it should have a button

if it comes down to it i think the cars with traction control are going to have a sensor in the top of the diff whereas cars without don't. not 100% on that one but i think that's right. i know there is a difference in sensors on the cars with and without.

NON TCS cars have a speed sensor on the top of the diff. TCS cars have a speed sensor on each wheel. But yes, if it has traction control it has a button. If not, then it doesn't
