Lowering with TT2's???

I just bought some TT2's for my car 17x9.5 and 17x11, is it possible to lower the car? is it recommended? what do you suggest me to do since I'd like to have better handling and comfort? shocks only?

Mine is lowered and I there are a lot with those wheels are lowered. I have a BMR kit but others I know have a pro kit. I just don't like how the pro kit rides though. I really like my BMR kit with Koni SAs

I thought I would have a rubbing issue by lowering the car with 17x11, but I guess not.
