Default k member which is lightest

Ok so i have heard different things about different brands ok k mebers having different weights i have heard some say that they save 50 pounds does stock k member even weigh 50 pounds. So witch k member is the lightest it would be great to see actual weights on these or how much weight you saved buy getting one.

The stock LS1 K-Member weighs in at 57lbs with motor mount stands (not the actual rubber mounts). We have our K-Member coming in the end of May, we are unsure of the exact weight but are looking to save around 20lbs if possible and still maintain a streetable unit. Some more testing over the next 2 months will assure us of this.

As far as weight...lightest is the only the best if it can hold up to what you want to do with it.

Hope that helps!

Is your car a daily driver? I ask because there have been a few posts about guys having their aftermarket K-members fail on them when used on daily drivers. They do save some weight, but I'm not sure of the exact figures. Most, if not all, aftermarket K-members are recommended on dedicated race cars if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: Ryan, you beat me to posting. So, you guys are working on a K-member that is meant to be used on a street car? Sounds good, hopefully all will work out well.

An Ls1 k-member with cast iron motor mounts weighs in at 55.75 pounds. Our tubular k-member is 24.5 pounds giving a weight savings of 31.25 and is constructed of high quality DOM mild steel. If you have any other questions just let me know

I have heard of a few kmembers breaking on street cars. Do you warranty them on street applications?

Have you done a search on the subject? I remember seeing atleast two posts of aftermarket K-members failing. One at one of the A-arm welds and the other I'm not so sure. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find them.

Just did a quick search and here's a thread where a guy posts about his BMR K-member failing. Don't know where the original thread is though...
