Default Need an answer to a stupid question

Friday I took off my calipers to paint them, thought I had bled the system good, but don't have much stopping power and the pedal feels pretty soft. Can anyone tell me how they usually go about bleeding thier system, and also if does anyone know if the bleeder on the back should go on the top or bottom, because I think I may have put my back calipers on the wrong side.

when you took the calipers off did you use anything to cap the lines off with?

No, I drained all of the fluid out and put in fresh.

the bleeders should be at the top so that the air can rise out of them. did the master cylinder run dry?If so you will need to bleed the whole ABS module which cant be done without a tech2.

Do you mean drain and in empty completly, or did you mean flush. Looks like its time for a visit to the stealership.

Yeah, that's probably what it's going to take. I've done that on older vehicles, but never one with traction control.

I got in touch with a guy I know that works for GM. He said that there is an automatic bleed program that you have to have the tech II to run, wish that I had known that ahead of time. He's going to bring it to my house and get it lined out for me so I won't have to haul it up there to the dealer. Hopefully someone else on here will see this thread and it will keep them from making the same stupid mistake that I made.

Well, we finally got it going Monday night. It took three tries because the first time we ran out of fluid and the second time the battery went dead on my car. Too bad that it has rained here the whole time since and it's not supposed to quit all week. I haven't got to drive my car in three weeks.
