Default brake backing plate assembly

Does anyone know what's included with the rear backing plate assembly? I need one part to fix my parking brake and I get different stories everytime I talk to someone at the stealership. I've had one tell me I need to by a rebuild kit another tell me that I needed to get the backing plate assembly and another guy didn't have a clue what I needed. I know I can't get the part I needed by itself but that's all I know for sure.

This is the part I need if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it

I believe it's called a parking brake actuator. The little sprocket is sheered off on mine

You should e able to just get the parking brake actuator by itself unless it is built in.

Dealer says I can't just get it on its own. But when I ask what I need to order I've gotten different answers

I would just go to a parts store and have them order it for you, that way you canget just what you need and not the backing plate as well.

I got similar response from the local dealer when trying to get the boots for the p brake levers on the backing plates. Try one of the dealer sites w/ searchable replacement parts catalog: there are several that I've used. Specialized hardware may not be gettable from a-zone, etc.

Its a dealer only item. I've looked on a couple dealer sites and can't even find it on their parts catalog.

That sucks, I would go to another dealer and tell them that the last dealer you came from didnt have the part, but another dealer would be able to get you just the part you need by itself.

I have done this many times and it always works.

Or worst case go to a junkyard and get a decent one.

The junkyard is beginning to look pretty good right now. I'll go to one more dealer and then off to the junkyard
