Re: Poll: sway bar or NO sway bar?
I keep a 1LE up front for street driving, but it comes off at the track. Definitely keep your rear one on for the track - and if you go to a larger size or better design (wolfe) it's definitely worthwile.
I am running a home-made bar similar to the wolfe and it keeps the car straight, but I can second Angie's noise comment.

With my eibachs and no front sway bar the car is still pretty stable on turns, not like it was with stock springs.

Re: Poll: sway bar or NO sway bar?
I took my sway bar out about a month ago. After driving for about 10 minutes, I got completely used to it. I don't drive my car in the rain, and I rarely drive nasty on the street so it doesn't bother me at all. I would not try chasing any Supra TTs through traffic though, thats for sure!

I had the bar off on my '99 but I decided to leave it on my '02. I forgot how much better the cars handle with the bar on.

Re: Poll: sway bar or NO sway bar?
It's cool to run without the front for draggin', but I'd never recommend pitching the rear bar...big mistake...as a matter of fact, I like an even bigger bar in back for drag racing, like the 25 mm GM bar.
On my new convertible, I run a front sway bar, but I crank the front Hal shocks to full loose, haha...works better than yanking the front sway bar with stock shocks...weight transfer is killer!

Re: Poll: sway bar or NO sway bar?
I had the swaybar off of my T/A, and I did enjoy it for the street. The front end would lift quite a bit more. However, I've yet to disconnect it on the SS. After crawling out of an '01 Lightning, the stock f-body cornering ability was less than I was used to. I've yet to NEED to pull the front bar with my current setup. I've only been to one track out of four that I've had to fight traction. All of that may change with the 3.73's and different converter. I'd be more likely to get a set of front Hal shocks than I would to pull the front sway bar.
Jason - The Suspension Techniques rear sway bar is great! I installed it on my T/A, and it made a great improvement. It was so drastic for daily driving and cornering that I couldn't tell that the front bar was removed. It also helped to keep the car more stable on the launches as well. I'll end up installing one on the SS before too long.

I've had it off, then put it back on. On ramps are sooooo much more fun in the 1LE now

Re: Poll: sway bar or NO sway bar?
I effectively had no front swaybar for a while, one of the endlinks was busted. Didn't really notice a difference .... until I put new endlinks on a few weeks ago, DAMN, there is so much less body roll now, particulary noticable around sharp corners. I can just SLANG the car through 90 degree intersections now

I have mine off now, but I haven't seen a difference at the track. 1.6's before and 1.6's now

Re: Poll: sway bar or NO sway bar?
So, how exactly would removing the bar (or endlink) help you at the dragstrip? Always hear people talking about it, but don't understand. I realize that weight transfer is important on a launch, but how can this possibly help?

Re: Poll: sway bar or NO sway bar?
JackDaniels by removing the sway bar or end links you allow for weight to better transfer to the rear tires which allows for better traction. This only works well with drag radials or slicks, the effect is neglible with street radial tires.
