Default Wilwood brakes?

Has anyone used the big brake 6 big kit on an F body. They go for about 1300 or so, just wondering if its worth the price.

Steve2000SS did his fronts and rears I believe, but ran into some fitment issues with the rears....I'm sure he'll tell you all about it when he gets here.

To use the rear Wilwoods he would have had to replace the rear end with one that did not have traction control and then live with the ABS Inop light being lite all the time.

When I was helping Steve put on his Ezra (sp?) rear rotors on Sunday he told me that he did notice a difference with the Wilwoods on the front. He can tell you more but he may not get back to you for a few days. He has a business trip going on over the next few days. If you can wait a little bit he can probably give you some real good information on their capabilities. We are planning on going to Buttonwillow in June to run the cars up there. If that place doesn't put the brakes to their limits nothing will.

Hey, Sorry I didnt get here sooner

The rear kits were designed on a Camaro without TCS (ASR).. If you try to put the rears on a car with TCS the exciter will interfer with the new parking brake assembly so you have to do the following:

New parking brake cable and clevis from Locar ($130)
New (or used) non TCS axels
Program out the TCS (unless you want ABS inop lights and such on your dash all the time)

I felt it was too much hassle for too little gain.. most of the braking is the front and its not like my car is raced all the time..

The Fronts.. I love them.. stop VERY good and have a very different feel to them.. I am running the Q pads on the street (low dust, no noise) so the performance is less than if i had the track pads but they feel much firmer.. more mechanical.. you can feel them grab unlike the stock calipers.. plus i feel they are BEAUTIFUL:

Very well made kit and came complete.. Calipers are almost a work of art and installation took around 3-4 hours.. not tough.. minor cutting to the spindles (easy with a sawzall).. Pad changing for the front is a snap now.. just pull a bridge bolt and slide in the new pads.. no caliper removal required..

Let me know if you have specific questions..

Thanks again to Rob for helping me with the rear eradispeeds.. they match-up well with the fronts and give the car a great look

Oh, you can get them without drilled rotors if you going to do heavy track use (and they are cheaper).. the drilled ones are nice though and the holes are cast in and properly radiused..

Lou G. over at LG Motorsports gave these brakes the thumbs up so that was good enough for me

Are Brembos better?? probley but they also cost more than twice as much.. these are by far the best "bang for your buck" brakes..
