Wow...that looks amazing! How do the brakes feel compared to the old. Any modifications to put on the brakes? Also, how much did the brake setup cost if you dont maind sharing?

Default Cost

The entire thing (wheels-$1,200, Tires-$1,400, Brakes, pads & Rotors - $2,200, Bracket-$350 from Trackbird, Labor would have been $800) The fronts were easy with the new brackets from Kevin. Had to take the "ear" off on the front for the brackets to work. The directions made it a two minute job. On the rears however I had to remove a good amount of the backing plate and the parking brake for it to fit properly. The rear wheels are 18x11 and the fronts are 18x9.5 and they have to be 40mm off-set to accomodate the 14" rotors and calipers.

Default Stopping Power

I had the C5 ZO6's on there and this is smoother by far. Less labored.

Man thats sick..... they look great too. For comparison purposes it be nice to get your stopping distance from 100mph to 0 and 60mph to 0. Pull your G tech out and give us some real numbers..... Thanx

Awesome! I'm in the middle of the same brake swap right now on my 67. The fronts went right on my car with the AFX spindles I have.
The rears seem like they will work with a stock F body axle flange bracket, minus the E brake. Did you lose the E brake altogether or modify the bracket?

Default Where to buy C6 ZO6 Stuff

All of the items were available at the Chevy counter with a VIN from a new ZO6. The number is in plain view. The front brackets were purchased from Kevin/Trackbird. They took a little while because they have to be done in batches, otherwise it would be non-profitable, but they are kick-*** with ARP hardware. The rear I had to "fab" the rear backing plate and remove the parking brake. Hopefully Trackbird or UMI will come up with a rear bracket soon.

Looks pretty sweet! You didn't have to upgrade the master cylinder or anything else?

Those front brakes require an 18" wheel, correct?

I have been thinking about doing the c5 conversion for a few months. I then stumbled across this idea and read that because of part availability and the fact that aftermarket brake pads are not available using these in a track environment was not worth it. I am glad you posted this up with prices. These brakes look awsome on an f body. I wonder how long it will take to get after market pads but it is deffinately something i am thinking about now.
