will z06 calipers fit on the rear? say you got the lg motorsports brake package and got the z06 fronts, would the z06 rears be a staight swap? anyone know?

Re: will z06 calipers fit on the rear? i'm very sure that i know someone who has done that. just an FYI - its the same cailper you already have, just powder coated. i sugest you paint or powder coat yours.

Re: will z06 calipers fit on the rear? well i'm lazy and if i can directly bolt up a factory caliper w/a factory finish id much rather do that. painting will be a last resort. does anyone know? i know a few people on this board own a vette and a f-body how bout some help fellas

Re: will z06 calipers fit on the rear? A friend of mine works a GMMG and works on the ZL1 Camaros. One of the upgrades they do is putting the Vette brakes on the ZL1. The front requires special brackets that ran $500 for the set. Not sure about the back. With that kind of cost, why not just do the Wilwood 4 piston package? Hope this helps.

Re: will z06 calipers fit on the rear? I think i read somewhere that the physical dimensions are the same, but the fitting for the brakehose and/or bleed screw were in different locations.

The corvette brakes (at least the Z06, and I believe it is all of them) are pressure cast (not really forged, but better than regular cast) and seem to eliminate "spreading" (under extreme use, the cast f-body calipers have in some cases started to open up or bend outward). The F-body calipers are regular cast aluminum. THere would be a posible performance upgrade (if you use the brakes that hard) by switching to the vette calipers. I am looking into this change for my own car as well (autocross and track days). However, I don't know if they will swap or not. I'd contact Scoggin-Dickey Chevrolet (www.sdpc2000.com) adn see what they can tell you (and they will likely have a good deal on the calipers). Good luck.
I have them in conjunction with my baer eradispeed rotors on my Z06. Stops insanely quick.

well i called around and no one has a clue whether they fit or not so im gonna have to find a vette and check it out for myself. anyone in new orleans have a z06 i can compare/contrast to? maybe take it for a spin? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />
