How can you tell when Calipers are no good?
well as the title states, i dont think my right front caliper is working so well. when i break that sides grabs hard first.....and when i start to go it seems as it is still stuck and grinds for a while before i really start moving... i think its the caliper but not sure so what do you guys think??

Sounds like you answered you own question.
It appears that the caliper is sticking. Jack up the car and then with it in the air hit the brake pedal for a second. The wheel should then move freely when you try to spin it by hand. If not and the other side does I'd be suspect of the caliper first then the ABS contoller.
Calipers are easy to replace.

When you take the wheel off there are large brackets that hold the caliper. Inside those brackets are pins that the caliper bolts thread into, there is a small rubber boot on these pins. They will slide out or not if they are jammed in there. Grease them up.

If you look on the back side of the caliper you will see two bolts, one top and one bottom. To loosen these bolts you must move back the rubber boot slightly (the rubber boot is outboard of the bolts and on the opposit side of the caliper - adjacent to the bolt head) and place a 16 mm wrench over the flats on the pin to hold it to loosen the bolt (I believe the bolt head is 12MM). The flats are on the slider pins. Take both caliper bolts off and remove the caliper, you can then pull the slider pins out of the caliper mounting bracket, they are approx. 3" long and need to be greased such that the caliper can float. Sounds like one has ceased and is not letting the caliper float. This is what I think is causing your binding. When you remove the caliper be sure to hang it on a hanger and not let it hang free as this will stress the rubber brake line-not good!

got the problem solved....thanks to weezer, thanks to everyone for the help...... last place that did my brakes must have not greased em up cuz they were in there pretty damn bad. had to heat, and beat the crap out of em to get em out. once again, thanks for the help... i love this site
