What's the best flat washer? Is this the only "What's the best" question left? |
Fender washers! :P Stainless is nice, but most of the time I end up with zinc. :( LOL. |
Zinc washed, drilled & slotted of course ;) |
I was thinking about having all my washers revalved. |
Any flat washer is only as good as the washer fluid that you use on it. I think that synthetic washer fluid is the way to go, but opinions differ. In general, though, when it comes to flat washers the beefier the washer the better. You just can't beat beefy parts. |
I prefer to go with the flat ones. With holes in the middle. |
I'd go with the highest tensile strength washer myself. Zinc plated of course. :jest: |
Has any one had any trouble with slotted, cross drilled, revalved, synthetic lubed, zinc plated, beefy flat fender washers with a high tensile strength warping or grinding going into 3rd? |
Hey Mitch, do you know where I can get an adjustable one? Sometimes they're just not thick enough. |

I told him he should just toss those stupid washers because they're nothing but added weight anyway. |
Aluminum and adjustable ... hmmm ... |
IMHO, washers made of unobtainium are the only way to go... Money permitting. |
My last washers had stuck slider pins. |
How much negative camber can someone get from a stock flat washer? |

But wouldn't rod ended flat washers make the ride harsh and more noisey? |
When you mount a washer, which side goes up? One side has a small lip on it, so does that go toward the nut or the other way? Does Firehawk #608 offer carbon fiber washers? Do our cars need washers? I was thinking about removing all of them, since that would shave off about two pounds. -Mike |
Hello, I just picked up a new washer kit from the GP going on in the tools forum. Does anybody know what are the best washers to use that also create no dust and no noise? I can't stand noisy washers. I hope that the ones I got are going to be okay. I don't want any noise. Oh, and what bolts should I use with these washers? |

my sisters car is a pure street car, so i stuck to the poly washers. i heard the metal washers are too harsh. my car is 100% performance though. thats why i got the thickest beefiest heaviest washers that i could find, and then had them powdercoated super bright look-at-me-im-a-aftermarket-part red.... if you look really carefully on the side, you can see the spohn sticker. |
