Default fitting 315 nitto's on zr1 17x11

ok, its a setup specific question. ive got a nonadjustable panhardbar and nonadjustable lower control arms, both from umi. now, i plan on getting the 17x11 zr1 rims with 315/35-17 nitto 555r drag radials. my question is, how low can i go without running into rubbing issues. ive been thinking maybe the bmr 1" lowering springs, but ive heard the eibach sport lines that are 1.5" would work, any insight to this??

It varies from car to car. GM's tolerances aren't that tight, so some cars don't rub at all and others rub all over the place. At stock ride height, I didn't have to do anything except roll the fender lip. When I put my Hotchkis springs back on, I had to re-center the rearend and really hammer in the inner fender wells. I never had to mess with the LCA's, though.

From what I've read, the Nitto 315's are a little narrower than the Goodyear GSD3's (what I run), so it might not be as much of an issue for you.

The 315 GSD3's are more like a 325 or 335 but it is one hell of a tire.

Hello,

Thats going to be really tough to say, its kind of hit or miss. Really the only thing to do is lower it and if they rub the worst thing you have to do is buy a adjustable panhard bar.

Hope that helps,
Ryan

As mentioned, it's hit or miss..depending on car.

I ran the 315's on my 94 Z28 that had Granatelli springs (about a 1" drop) and I only had to hammer in the driver side fender well a bit. Never had an issue on either side with it scraping the inside lip over bumps.

It's not a big deal to do some hammering, just put them on and go for a small drive then look for the scrub marks and hammer there.

NOOOOOO SPORTLINES!!!!!!!!!!! 1.5 inch drop is bs... ESPECIALLY on stock decarbons. Mine ended up sagging to like 2.5 inch, close to 3 inch drop and the ride was terrible. Sportlines = ... Although they look freakin sick... wish i could have the best of both worlds
