Default Installed SJM PHB with 17x11 315's and shock question

I just installed the SJM panhard bar. The bar is a very solid construction with double rod ends so it can be one hand adjusted from under the car. My only complaint with the bar is that it must be throughly cleaned and then primered and painted to avoid rust. It comes as a bare piece of steel but shipped for $150 isn't bad. I might make one next time. After the phb install, I put my ZR1 17x11 rims on. I went with a 315 Sumitomo HTR from tirerack.com. YOU WILL NEED A PANHARD BAR for the rims. I tried it without it first but it rubbed big time on the driver side. I installed the bar and moved the body over with the bar and BOOM no more rubbing. I have jumped speedbumps, slid it sideways and no rubbing. The bar also helps dramatically with cornering allowing a 50% drop in the rear end going out from under it. It as improved take off by about 35% and helps the car stay straight on the highway. Also, what shocks are people running on the rear end. I pushed on the trunk and the shocks seemed to be worn down in the rear. I have the factory Delphi? orange shocks on there. Car has 51k miles.

Those are factory DeCarbon's and they are far from good, even when new. Find a better replacement.

From what mods you've done so far, is it safe to assume you're looking for better handling rather than drag racing?

I got the PHB so my 315's would fit. I am looking for a better shock that will improve handling and traction. I'm a DD so all around shock would be good.

How much do you want to spend on shocks?

I'm not too sure probably around $300. I don't know anything about shocks and what to get with the stock spring. What are my options?

For around $300, your best bet is to go with Bilstein HDs, which are designed specifically for use with stock springs.

so it seems pretty striaght forward to adjust the rear? You just jack it up and adjust until the rear looks centered????
