and thanks for your useless post....all it did for me was take up space
Koni shocks and DMS springs would be the option I would go with, but since you don't want to spend money or change out springs, that opinion was a waste of space too. Sorry.

Didn't you say you already have the Prokit springs?
Oh well, I'd just get some facotry rear springs from the slavage yard and trim about 1 coil off the top and try them with and without the isolater. The isolator adds about 3/4" or so. Removing one coil should increase the spring rate from 115 to 135 which will help prevent hitting the bumpstops. The increased spring rate will also improve the handling. I typically run between 160lb and 170lb/inch rear rates. I also modded my bumpstops to allow about 1" extra travel. It really helps to smooth out the ride.

In any case, if you think you may change springrates or ride heights, Koni's are what you want. You can try other types of shocks, but I'm thinking it would cost you more in the long run if you bought another type and you'd just go get konis.
Good info about the bumpstops. Remove the spacer and bumpstop and replace it with a normal z28 bumpstop.

Like stated a million times before, it's hard to have both. If the car sits low, the suspension has to be stiff to keep from bottoming out. If you only have an inch of suspension travel before it bottoms out, how can you possibly have a smooth ride? I'm still confused as to why you don't know what parts to buy. You said your friend had the nice drop you are looking for and the nice caddy ride. What parts were on that car? Should be a no brainer. Hell, if you could figure out a way to have a caddy ride with a dropped look on an f-body, you could make a ton of money. It ain't going to happen though.

Interesting reading in case you missed it about the prokit and the dreaded rear sag.

This is the neverending thread. "Best Ride" is subjective. No one knows what you consider the best ride is. We can make suggestions though. If you want the best road performance spring and ride quality over bumpy roads isn't high on your priority list, the best setup in my opinion is the Koni SA/Strano spring combination. I would only get GC coilovers if I didn't want to ride at the normal ride height. Strano springs lower your car about 1.2 -1.5 inches I think (correct me if I'm wrong).
