Sam's Springs

Sam,

Do you have an ETA for your springs? I've already purchased my set (along with Koni's), just curious when you are expecting them to be shipped.

I think I might go ahead and buy the UMI panhard as well, I'll give your shop a call next week.

Thanks,
Jeff

got PM?

z28bryan Apr 29, 2007 11:25 AM

Give him a call. He might be busy but he'll return it.

jjones Apr 29, 2007 07:54 PM

I will call him one one of these days. I'm not worried about when they are coming, just curious and figured I would drop a message on here because I am too lazy to actually look for his phone number and call him.

I only get ETA's, nothing 100% definite. The ETA I had for them making port the week of the 23rd, didn't happen. Now I have an ETA for the springs making port sometime *next* week.

For the record, this gets frustrating for me as well. But to get all the things I wanted from the springs, I need to use who I use. When things get made and shipped on a boat from great distances, things get sticky. Apparently I'm hearing there was a shipping strike in Germany that lasted a week or two, and of course that's when the springs were to be shipped. Hence the reasoning I've gotten for the push back.

Worth the wait....

z28bryan Apr 30, 2007 03:44 PM

I agree

Sam Strano Apr 30, 2007 04:33 PM

Thanks guys.... It makes me very happy to know you like the springs so much.

WS6.Jay Apr 30, 2007 07:39 PM

Poop, waitin on mine too. Oh well hopefully they'll show up soon.

jjones Apr 30, 2007 09:37 PM

Thanks for the update - I still have snow in my yard here in Maine so no hurry. Just trying to have an idea on ETA so I can free up my weekend for an install.

Thanks,
Jeff

Wow, I and thought it was a crappy spring here in PA. You have my sympathies.

foxrus14 May 1, 2007 11:41 PM

I can assure you they are worth the wait. as I am waiting for mine along with you all. i just know they are great being that I got to ride in Sam's car which convinced me to order his revalve's too.

qwikz28 May 2, 2007 12:14 AM

waitin on mine too! can't wait to drive this thing. going from a city driven, stock suspension 60k mile car to strano spring/bars, konis, and UMI everything is gonna be amazing.

Crash00527 May 2, 2007 12:10 PM

I would just like to thank Sam for his advice and info per our phone conversation yesterday.

Im gonna drive my car over the weekend and see what i want it to do suspension wise. im most likely gonna order Sams revelaved Bilsteins.

I sold my Bilstein HD's within a few mins. of posting them.

I still have my Eibach Pro-Kit. now im just wondering if i should get rid of them also and go with Sams springs.

How much of real diff. would i feel and look wise would i get compared to Sams.....i see sams springs are rated at 500/150 and Eibachs are 399/137 can someone explain to me in more detail what that actually means. all i can make of it is that it seems Sams springs can carry more weight. thx.

Sam Strano May 2, 2007 12:18 PM

My springs are 550/150, not 500/150. Your springs being LS1 Pro-kits are 400 front, 80-137 rear. They aren't firm enough to support the car the way I like with the ride height they put the car at. And when you are on the bumpstops too much, the ride suffers because the srping rate doesn't much matter then.

Update on the springs themselves. Got an update yesterday (and it's not written in stone), and it seems the springs are to make port tomorrow or Friday, and hopefully clear customs by Monday and be on a truck to me. So I'm hoping like hell the end of next week I'll have some springs.

Please, PLEASE understand that there are not tracking numbers on these containers, and the ETA's are ESTIMATED times of arrival. I don't want to stonewall you guys, which is the only reason I even mentioned this. WHEN I GET THE SPRINGS, THEY WILL BE ON THE WAY TO YOU ALL. There is no reason for me to screw around and wait, and the sooner I get what's ordered shipped, the sooner I know how many sets I have left to sell.

I was in the same boat as you, I swapped out Eibach's for Sam's springs. Major difference, in handling and ride.

Crash00527 May 3, 2007 11:52 PM

nice..thats all i really needed to hear. thansk God i didnt put them in yet. i usually catch myself and learn from my mistakes before they happen. LOL

unfortuantly sometimes i impulse buy after doing some research and end up re-buying the good stuff later. ie: like now lol

Viper May 4, 2007 03:43 PM

Don't feel bad, this is my 4th suspension setup since 2000.

subtlez28 May 4, 2007 08:21 PM

I'm waiting on mine also. Just hope 2 have them on by 05-28-07 (my 1st race this season).

kmgsix08 May 5, 2007 11:29 AM
