Aftermarket torque arm with 10 bolt on A4?
I had been hearing that an aftermarket torque arm will just break the 10 bolt. I thought it was supposed to HELP?! What's the deal? Don't the A4 cars preload the rearends, helping them to deal with hard launches? Wouldn't a better torque arm just help protect the rear end more? Teach me!!!!

An automatic will be much easier on a rear end and will most likely last longer then a manual car. I feel an aftermarket torque arm can actually help prolong the life of the rear end internals. An aftermarket arm will reduce the wheel hop that a stock arm can cause and this is very hard on the gears. So I actually feel adding an aftermarket torque arm will not hurt the rear as long as it is driven correctly.
This is my theory, hope that helps!
