Anyone ever remove they're EBCM or replace it?

Stands for Electronic Brake Control Module, it is the thing that your brake lines plug into in the engine bay (on an ls1), it has to do with the ABS.

Anyway, i have heard different things, one that you have to bleed the system with a scan tool in additional to a manual bleed after it has been removed or replaced and another that you don't even need to bother. Anyone who has removed this, what did you do to bleed the brakes afterwards?

(and the reason i removed it was for polishing, which i eventually decided against)

I'd gather up a good service manual. I am getting ready to order a factory manual from Helm Publications. It is the best $125 you'll ever spend (if you work on your car). Just my thoughts....

Yes you HAVE to bleed it. The problem is without a tech 2 it is much more difficult.W/o a tech you have to bleed the whole system, into, & at hydralic unit, & at wheels. Then hopefulley you got a decent enough pedal to drive it (over 15 mph) & the abs system will cycle the dump valves. Then you can bleed it at h/unit & out of wheels again. :eek2: until you get a good pedal, May have to bleed & drive a few to get it :punch: :judge: but you cannot run it up in the air to cycle valves it has to be driven the abs system has to see all the wheel speed sensors working at the same input/speed to continue self test & cycle valves, so unfourtuntely you can't cheat.
