SFC removal: Dremel?
I was looking at my SFC's trying to figure out a good way to remove them.
Can a dremel tool (or similar) do the job? Would I want to use a grinding disc or a cutting disc?

You will get frustrated rather quickly trying to use a dremel to cut them off, it will take weeks.
Buy a grinder and get a cut off wheel to replace the grinding wheel and it will go much quicker.
Of course a cutting torch will get you out of the garage in about 20 minutes.

Launching!
You'll only need a grinder to finish off the sharp stuff left when the job is done.
Most of the work will be done with a Sawzall. Stock up on heavy duty blades. I did this very thing just last winter.

I recommend a 4-1/2" angle grinder, you can use the wheel
edge-on for taking out the beads and then dress it clean with
the face. Harbor Freight ones are under $20 on sale (be sure
you get the one that works with standard abrasive wheels,
they sell some that are "orphans" too).
