Default Turn One Power Steering Pump

I had a few things in my engine bay apart, and what do you know? My stock power steering pump was leaking Never replace...always upgrade.

I'm a huge fan of the Turn One pump now that everything is in and running. The steering feels very, very nice with this pump. You get a LOT more feedback, and it actually feels like you are connected with the road. I never thought something so simple as reducing the pump's flow would have such a profound impact.

They say low speed turning might be affected, but I hardly even noticed it. About the only thing I noticed was that I could actually feel the road through the steering wheel. Hopefully this one stays around for a while, unlike the stocker

One recommendation - get the pump straight from Turn One, and order their pulley already installed on it. Well worth not having to mess with installing it like I did, and it looks very nice with everything else in my engine bay. Plus, their customer service is awesome.

Just thought I'd throw that out there to anyone else whose power steering pump decided to take a dump

Power steering takes a dump! Yea, right. There is not even one part of your car that looks used, dirty, or scratched from working on it. Oh, wait. That means good job!

I think with the pulley installed from Turn One, they run about $300 or so...I got my pump from Lingenfelter, so I ended up paying more

In terms of seat of the pants gains? Nothing...but it definitely keeps the car cooler at all times, so for me, it was worth it just for that. They flow a lot of water when the engine is just idling.

For anyone who was just having power steering whine issues and don't have their stock pump leaking, I was going to go directly with the Turn One but decided to just try a Redline PS fluid change. So far its been taking a beating. My PS system used to whine after only 2 runs. I now have been able to go 8-9 runs a day and haven't even gotten a peep out of it since the Redline fluid change.

I made a thread about this in the past. Obviously if you pump is leaking, the Redline fluid won't work. But in case your pump is not leaking, this gives you a cheap option to solve your PS whine problems rather than running for a new pump or a PS cooler

Mine has been in the car for the last 2 years. Works well and I would recommend it to anyone. Check the pulley once in a while to make sure it sits well on the pump.

I agree. I flushed out the fluid that has probaly been in there for since day one and put in some red line and it rid of 90% of the whine that I had after autox runs.

...and that is precisely why I run Redline PS fluid in this new pump. I don't want ANY issues

Yeah, they are saved in my favorites...I'll slap on one eventually!

Was you stock pump leaking, or just belching fluid out the cap (and all over itself) like mine?

The stock pump was actually leaking out the back of it...I've never run it hard enough to belch fluid out the cap, which was kinda disappointing. It didn't really have a good reason for failure with the stock power steering cooler and an underdrive pulley for the majority of that pump's life.

Mine was leaking out of the cap after one hard day of autox. I let it cool down and replaced teh cap. It still whines and i can still see that there is oil around the cap. Fluid is not low either. What would u reccomend.

Just keep an eye on it...mine never leaked much fluid at all, but after taking it off of the bracket, that's when I could tell it was leaking in the back. I had no idea it was leaking that much until I took it off one day out of curiosity.

I think mine might also be leaking out of the cap. I figure I might be doing 2 fluid changes a year. Less money for now. But if it leaks bad I'll be going for a TurnOne

Mine leaks constantly out the cap after doing autox, this is high on the list of to do's. Along with a PS cooler for road racing.
