Front sway bar or not?
I am running with QA1 front shocks and springs. Someone told me that my 60' would go down if I took the front sway bar off. What does everyone think.

I just yanked mine yesterday. It will help you launch better, it allows easier weight transfer to the *** end of the car, as well as freeing up a little weight up front. I'm sure someone else can give a better more in-depth reason on how it helps the launch though.

I just installed a larger front bar today. So I of course voted to have the sway bar. However if you dont daily drive your car and go to the track a lot, then I guess not having would be just fine. I drive my car evrywhere though. I would never take my front bar off.

This poll is practically useless without more information on what you do with the car. I'd never run my car on the streets without the front sway bar in place. If it was a quarter mile drag car only, the front sway bar would be the first thing I'd ditch.
So what, on average, do you do with the car?

I love the people who say "I couldn't even feel a difference".
Wow, that give us a perfect idea of how the car responds to this change.
Have you even tried..should be pretty obvious in emergency manuvers

ok, go crank up QA1s to one of the upper numbers, then try it.
seriously, until you're doing sustained cornering, like a corkscrew exit, you wont see much diff in bodysway.
on a emergency swerve... the body roll is about the same.
anyway.. drag car, ditch it.
street/strip.... its your choice.
stock handling car.. leave it
cornering car, get a decent bar, the stock one sucks. lol.
theres your extremes.. pic one.

I'm having deja vu.... isn't this the, like, 4,000th time this has been re-hashed this year? If you want to run without it at the track, fine. Disconnect an endlink. Those who don't drive with one on the road, or report "no difference", well...... I'd like some of what they're on.

Thats like saying "I couldn't tell the difference between when my car was stock to full bolt ons and cam."

Ok, well the car is for the track mostly but a little of DD time. I have heard if you get a new bigger rear sway bar with adjustable front and rear shocks you will never tell a differance when the shocks are at there firmest positions and the front sway bar is gone.

so, would you call this error on your part due to reading comprehension, or due to selective response? selective response meaning you wanted to respond about the importance of swaybars in vehicle bodyroll, and just used your example, even though its not relevant to the example you're replying to.

however, if you're hauling *** around curved exit ramps, the sustained cornering will slowly allow more and more bodyroll..
and before someone goes off to correct this, go read sam strainos posts on the subject.. he even says the same thing about the behavior of stiff shocks and low/no swaybars

The best thing to do is take it off and try it yourself. Only you know the answer. It will most likely improve your 60ft. Some people can dd without it and some people can not. It is simple to remove and simple to put back on. Take it off and if you want to leave it off then try it out in an empty lot in a safe place and see the difference in the way it handles. My guess is if its mostley a drag strip car then you will probley leave it off.
btw I think his pole was refering to his car and would removing the sway bar help his 60ft, not will removing the sway bar help the car handle or dd, or if your car has a sway bar or not.
