You want the car to handle and ride good, or just grip getting off the line?

Best advice, call Sam Strano at stranoparts.com, see what he recommends. Generally speaking, a setup for dragracing is going to be bouncy. If you want a good ride and be lowered your going to have to be willing to spend a little money. Your going to need shocks that can damper the lowering spring, just like you need supporting mods for a big cam, otherwise it wont work correctly.

well in order for us to help you we will need to know your budget, id probably go with bilstein HD's with eibach prokit, you can probably do it for around 500, on ebay they have a combo lowering kits that are around 550 or so.

Do a search, the pro-kit is one of the worst springs on the market for our cars.

most will agree that the BMRs are too stiff....but they advertise less drop than most...at 1"

how accurate that is, who knows.

i'd suggest just getting the Koni SA shocks...they are $$ but you can set them up with your stock springs and get about a 3/4" drop front and back if you do the heater hose mod on the rear.

some of the best shocks on the market....and you don't have to worry about buying springs.

....leave room in your budget for a wheel alignment which is required anytime you change the ride height.

I saw Summit-branded springs in the catalog that came today,
for very cheap. No idea of the rate, quality, etc. But cheap
as in, less than used Hotchkiss.

I dont have coil springs. All it takes to lower my car is crank down on the bolts. On my old TA I have the LG Motorsports G2 Super Springs and Bilstein HD's and loved it. I'm about to put new shocks on the vette and I'm getting Bilstein Sport's.

Budget? Define budget... Hose mod for me actually made the car look 10x better, cost 3 bucks.

With all the other mods you've already put on your car, it would seem tragic to cheap out on the two most important suspension pieces on the car that have the most significant impact on the overall handling of the vehicle.

Very true JRas. What springs, shocks do you recommend for just as good if not better ride than stock and a ride height drop of around 1"?

For the higher budgeted guys.

Don't forgot the Konis with hose mod and lower perch!

taking out the upper isolator padding for the rear springs and sliding 5" of heater hose around the top coil to act as padding. takes 3/4" or so off of the rear.
