Just wonding when I should replace stock shocks and springs. I have 2 cars...one with 36K miles and one with 44K miles....both are on stock shocks/springs.

Some will say replace the shocks as soon as you get it home

I let mine go until 70K, I wish I would have changed them much earlier, maybe no later than 50K. If you push down on the front/rear bumper and let go, it should come up and stay up, imho. At the very least, it shouldn't come back up more than twice.

My shocks were swapped in about 3500 miles....but I'm an extreme case. The stock shocks will last 50,000 (to 85,000 or more) miles. Springs don't "wear out", spring rate will remain constant, but the spring may "loose it's load", otherwise known as sagging. If you are happy with the way it is sitting (as far as ride height), I'd just do the shocks. If you are looking to lower it and upgrade performance, I'd look at lowering springs and matching shocks. Just my thoughts.

My Z24 has squeaking rear shocks, and my Z28's shocks and springs are the only bone stock suspension piece left on the car LOL

Don't get Eibach's. They suck. Mine sagged in less than a year. My front is so low I have to be careful about farting in the car. I now have 3.3 inches of clearence under the front air dam.

I ran an Eibach Pro kit on my 3rd gen Formula for 4 or so years, it was as good after 4 years as it was when it was new. I suspect that 6shifter has a set that is an exception, not the rule. Just my thoughts.

Why would you want to fart in your car anyway?!?!
