Default Hawk brake pads... wow




I love how I am sooooo close to getting the car done and this bracket has to pop off... Those are NEW Hawk pads too. Can I weld this sucker back on?

That circular mark indicates to me that it was rotating. How could that be? Seems to me that you need to resolve that first, prior to trying anything else. JMHO.

I dont think that is rust i think thats the dust that they produce when not getting up to temp -- i had that same issue on my 99 .. i rewelded mine with no problems

I am goin to try to knock that clip back on today. If not, its getting welded. And the pad only has 1000 or so miles on it so it is practically new! lol

Looks to me like the mark the caliper piston leaves.

It is. Also I fixed the problem. I hit the clip back on with an open socket and covered it in 5 min epoxy. Seems to be holding pretty well so far.
