SFC's for a hardtop I know this has been asked alot, but there doesn't seem to be a differentiation between hardtops and t-tops. I know hardtops are more rigged, are SFC's needed as much on a buildup? my lt1 rebuild should have about 500 crank horsepower (383 LE3) my current suspension is pretty stock: bilstein shocks 1LE front swaybar panhard rod lca's are coming as soon as I can get them Obviously my car is a hardtop. Do I need a set of SFC's? |
a pair of Weld-in's wouldnt hurt |
it wont help AS MUCH as it would in a ttop car, but you will still get a lot of chassis flex, so the subframes will help |
its cheap insurance. cars are gonna twist no matter if they are hardtop or not. if ya run them enough times it'll be a matter of time before you start seein huge gaps around your rear hatch and rear 1/4 panels start to wrinkle a bit. |
My favorite part about SFCs is the great jack point it provides. Just stick the jack under there and you get your whole side of the car a foot off the ground in like 10 seconds The worst part is that SFCs bump me into SM class in SCCA autoxing |
