Default To anyone who has replaced their steering rack come in.

Ok so heres the deal im working on getting the old steering rack out and replacing it with a new one. Now my problem is that on the drivers side of the rack the main bolt that holds it to the kmember is sitting under the block. Is anyone elses like this or could my kmember be damaged? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jon

That's normal. Put it in the other way when you reassemble. You will need to take a motor mount bolt out and jack up the pan to get it out.

Ok thats good. I was a little worried because the car was totalled once before in its life and I was beginning to wonder if the Kmember was tweaked a little. At least I have a poly motor mount to replace the stocker while im down there.
Thanks

I just used a sawzall to cut the head of the bolt off and replaced it, rather than jack with motor mounts.
