Default Bolt On Subframe Connectors Questions

Are the bolt-on type SFC's any good? How do they compare to the weld-in types? Also, which brands do you guys recommend? Racenet.net has some Alston brand SFC's powdercoated for $179. Anyone have these? Any info is greatly appreciated.

bolt on is nice for assembly but they need to be welded to make them work really well.....

use the bolts to locate it and hold in place till the car is on flat ground and adjusted (everything is even), lock the bolts down, and finally weld everything up to make it solid.

These devices work equally whether welded or bolted.
If you are going to weld these to your car why not just buy some tubing and have at it.

If you install bolt-ons properly they will not loosen or wallow out the mounting holes.
I would not select a product based on price alone and light weight doesn't mean it is effective.
If you would like more detail you may email me directly.

I've had bolt-ons for a year. They're just as tight now, as when they were put on. As a matter of fact, Al helped put them in.

They must have been installed properly.

Al,

I live in Monroe which, if you're not familiar, is the farthest county SE. I live about 15 minutes from Toledo. Where are you located?

Adam,

I live in DeWitt, that's about seven miles north of Lansing. If you go with bolt-on's and want to take a drive up to my place we can install them, I have the tools and a lift to do the install.

Wow! Thanks a lot for the offer. I may take you up on it too . It will probably be a few months before I do it though. My fiance just graduated from Mich. State a couple months ago so I'm pretty familiar with the area. I'll get in touch with you. Thanks a million!

My SLP bolt on's have been on for almost three years and the car is just tight as it was. Bolt's are good when done right but welding is probably the ticket in the long run.
