I had the same issue with my BMR T/A.

Commonality that i see, Pro-kit. I raised mine back up and the problem was no more. I tried to bang out a section to clearance it but ended up giving up. The whole trial and error of it got to me.

How do the bump stops look? Maybe time for some new ones.

Mine were fine. A lil old but still firm and full height.

This may be a stupid question, but do you have an adjustable PHR and are you using the correct holes on the axle end of the TA?

I have a 9 inch I have not installed yet, but it was in my buddies 94 Z28 vert and they had to bang out slightly the metal backing to the backseats.

I dont know if it will work or what, but thats why my friend did.

I dont want to do any banging away and dont know what will or wont fit snug, hence procrastinating my install.

Im getting pro kit soon too, who knows...

You have to BFH for clearance. I did that on mine but it still hits on decent sized bumps. My car is pretty low though.

i talked to spohn and they said that i need to pry the tunnel away from the torque arm its the combo of the torque arm the 12-bolt and the car also is real low thanks for the help guys

I'm lowered with UMI's TA, and Ive had no issues. I'm running the 10 bolt still though so that may be the difference.

You can't just "pry" the tunnel away from the bracket. I have beat the crap out of it with a sledge and even ended up making a cut/tear in the sheetmetal of the tunnel from beating on it some much and it still hits. Oh well I would rather deal with that noise than another broken tailshaft.

yes. i've had both the spohn and the UMI torque arm and you will need to bang the shit out of the tunnel. i've learned that this is a given with all aftermarket torque arms with a large aftermarket rear end.. i have a 9" so it bangs even worst. the top bolt on the torque arm mount that moser supplies will hit the rear of the tunnel and the torque arm bracket will clearance itself into the tunnel. it got to the point where the tunnel clearanced itself through the sheet metal and into the carpet!! so i took the torque arm off and banged the rest of the metal in with a modified big sledge hammer and welded up the sheet metal. now its alright...
