Question Drag Launch Springs or keep Stocks?

As it says. Should I get the Drag Launch springs or Keep the stocks with some good shocks? Either way, I'll be getting some QA1/Hal shocks. Any input or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

yeah drag launch springs are greatt for the track, but it floats alot. i bought the KYB AGX 8 way adjustables with stock springs, and its nice. I can only imagine what QA1's will do for you.

KYB AGX's $360 for 4
QA1's $700 for 4

There isn't as much info on here about the Eibach drag launch spring compared to the info at camaroz28.com. (It's probably because a lot of the old posts have been deleted and are waiting to added back again? I don't know.)

If you do a search on this spring at the aforementioned message board, then you'll see info saying that it will raise your rear, ALOT, even if you do the heater hose mod. This turned me off. I've also read posts about it making the car ride like a boat. Hell, I've read posts about the V6 springs making the car ride like a boat. I would just stay with the factory springs.

It depends alot on what you want to do with the car. If its a daily driver that you want to handle well then I would stay with the stock springs with a good adjustable shock.
If your going to be strictly drag racing the car then the drag shocks with QA1s are a KILLER setup. I run an Eibach drag launch kit with KYB AGXs right now and I will tell you straight out I am changing to QA1s the first chance I get. The KYBs are a good street handling shock, they would work great for that in my opinion but they are not meant for drag racing.
I drive my car on the street with no front sway bar and have no complaints about the car being scary to drive, I run skinnies on the front so I don,t take turns fast at all but just driving the car on the street with drag springs is not bad at all.

The front suspension is a little high cause it had been sitting on jackstands for a couple months and I have rebuilt the front suspension with poly bushings. It comes down a bit once you drive around. Thats a 275 50 15 Nitto DR on the rear and the rear sits that high all the time.

Do you use the Air bag with those drag launch springs? I was told if you had a thicker rear sway bar you didn't need the air bag, is this true?

sounds like u might have put the backs on the front maybe / somehow, or at least mixed them up or someone might have.

I put the rear drag springs on my thirdgen, which would be the same as 4th gen ones, and the rear only went up alittle bit from stock. the fronts for mine i could not even get a spring compressor to work with them so i could put them inside the a-arm.

the fronts on the shocks for a 4th gen I assume are just as tall, but cant say for sure.

my understanding of them is that the front with come up nicely and the rear will squat down, and with the help of the right rear air bad transfer the weight nicely to the rear and fairly level.

All depends on its use. DRAG ONLY then get drag/launch springs and shocks. If it'll see some street time, stock springs and some adj. shocks are a decent compromise with dual track/street duties in mind. Many have 10-11sec runs with stock springs. MooreGTO, for example. Runs an 11.33 with stock springs and HAL QA1s. Look around in the 10 and 11 second club forums, you'll see.

Wow, my old post risen from the dead!!!

Anywho, I ended up getting the whole QA1 setup with 300# springs. Rides nice and launches pretty nutz too. With stock springs in rear with isolators removed. I like the ability to raise and lower my front as I please. I can post some pics for you'all if you want. Just let me know here or in a pm.
