Default Konis/Strano Springs/subframes + Nitto 555R II

(and a larger front sway bar, probably a 32mm)

Does this sound like a nice good handling, streetable set-up? The car will be a bolt-on '02 Z28, with possibly a small cam. I'll run the nitto 555R IIs on some 17x9 or 17 x9.5 wheels. The car is not my daily driver, it will be driven probably about 4000 miles per year. It will not see snow/rain. I would like to be able to drive to to the beach etc (3 hours one way.)

Any other ideas or things I'm forgetting? I'm not looking to autocross the car but I need to improve the handling substantially.

Thanks....

i would say for sure on the konis and strano springs. but i would probably go with the strano front and rear sway bars. i talked to sam and read on here about the sfc's. some people love em and some hate em. but i have heard a lot of good things about stranos sway bar set to compliment the konis and strano springs....oh, i just saw your 1/4 time. that is damn good for a bone stock auto man, thats crazy. i ran a 13.9 with a bone stock 99 ta with 25k on it. but i got her down to 12.40s so its all good.

after talking to Sam on the phone, reading what people have to say about his stuff, and the articles in GM High Tech, there will be nothing but Strano parts on my F Body suspension! Koni's, Strano bars and springs, on-car adjustable PHB, and LCA's would be my setup.

If you are just street driving, I don't see any need for the Nitto RII (unless you are getting a special deal on them or something). I had them on my car a few years ago for my 100 treadwear tire limit racing event. What are your plans for the car? Daily? Drag? Road racing? Show?

The RII's will make your car ride a little rougher than a decent street tire and a little noisier. Everyone's tollerance is obviously different. There's a few other choices for cheap tires in those sizes. I think you can get Falken rt-615's. Kumho MX's are pretty cheap and stick very well.

If you want, you can step up to the big boy sizes and fit the 315 tires and 17x11 all around like I have needs some modification but wasn't a headache by any means to fit. You can get a handfull of tire types in that size.

The strano springs with konis and strano swaybars truely transform your car into something that actually handles exceptionally well and will still retain a quality ride. I'll give you the green light for those.

The 32mm front bay is a noticeable upgrade from the stock 30mm. The Strano bars are an even bigger jump from 32 than the 32 from 30. Plus they are les unsprung weight you actually increase ride quality just a tad. I've had both and that is my feedback. I like my ride as is but Konis are coming...

I agree, jump to the 35mm bar. I've had all 3 and that was a HUGE improvement. The springs/Koni's are a given.

How much do the hollow Strano bars weigh? I just put a 35mm solid swaybar on the front of my car Saturday, but damn it probably added 35lbs to the car over stock.

Let me guess, the suspension techniques bar? I have that and it's a pig. I'm swapping it out with a Strano bar
