Default Strut Turret Brace wont fit!!

Got a strut turret brace for my 93 T/A from Ebay.uk, (I know probably not the best idea but with being in the UK it was alot easier than importing from the US).

Anyway went for a trial fitment this afternoon, had the car on level ground and seems the brace dosent fit right, it will not reach to either side when its lined up on another. Even tried the brace the other way round just incase i was being stupid.

Now am i to assume that the car needs jacked up on one side to get the brace to fit, or even jacked from the front? Fitted braces before that needed this but never this bad.

Hoping its not badly made and is never gonna fit.

Heres some pictures to see what you's think.

You can see its off quite a bit on the right hand side.

Is this Normal for these braces?

Thanks
Paul

Not that i know of, theres no signs of any damage or repairs inside the engine bay anyway. Getting the feeling this strut bar could be **** tho.

Wonder if elongating the holes might solve the problem, if its bolted down really tight. Kinda defeats the purpous tho if theres a chance it could move.

As great as the BMR brace is priced, in total to the UK it's gonna cost me $226.00!!!

Think this could be a homemade job, annoying cause was looking forward to having this.

Thanks
Paul

I know 1st thing i noticed was the crap welding, then the cheap half arsed powder coating which scratched off in places. The ends that bolt down looked odd too even tho the holes did line up with the mounts
(just not at the same time!)
Thing is in the ad the guy said he bought it for his 4th gen T/A but sold the car b4 he fitted it. As soon as i get the strut brace and leave feedback, he has nearly the same ad up again with the same picture

Aw well you live you learn, 1st time ive been burned on Ebay.

Thats odd when i go to BMR and put in delivery to the UK the price shoots right up to $226.00 with delivery costs.

Still, looking forward to the brace i got from Speed Inc, its a Tractek anyone know is its anygood? Hope this one fits.
Dont think the cars twisted, drives great and its only got 40,000 miles on the clock.

Will let you's know how it goes.

Cheers
Paul

just so you know, besides having something to lean on when working on your engine bay, they provide no additional gains in performance and it actually gets in the way at times working in the engine bay..

oh, and we dont have Struts..

I know, ive had some improvement on other cars in the past with struts but diddent think it would do all that much on the T/A due to the way the suspention is designed.

Thing is i just seen it at a good price and more importantly in the UK which ment cheap quick shipping.
When i seen it in the engine bay i really liked the look of it, and was gonna look good with the rest of the stuff im planning on doing under the hood.

It not fitting pissed me off, and was gonna keep bugging me until i had a fix for it.

Be a nice rag holder if anything

the tab on the driver side that doesnt fit...it looks like he welded the tab on the wrong direction. if that was flipped in the opposite direction it looks like it would fit..
