Need brake pads.. Gonna change the brakes this weekend and take my rotors to get turned.. which brake pads are good and DON'T leave alot of dust?? |
usually ceramics leave the least dust, though they don't stop as well I think Sam has mentioned in the past that HPS pads may dust a little more than normal, but its easier to clean off than the dust that a lot of other pads create. That might be important to know as if you are hoping to clean dust less often and you have a pad that creates less harder to clean dust, then you'd be leaving it on the wheel longer. Where in the case of HPS's you'd be cleaning more easier to clean dust off the wheels more often |
stopped by the Zone earlier and they had ceramic pads for $41.99 (limited lifetime) and those were the ones they recommended since I mentioned I wanted pads that do not leave alot of brake dust. HPS?? |
Hawk HPS. They will give you a little more dust over stock. I just wanted to mention about the dust being easy to clean off, rather than caking on like other pads. But yeah, ceramics leave the least dust. They don't have very good stopping power though. If you just daily drive, you should be fine. |
EBC Greenstuf (and ONLY Greenstuf, don't touch Redstuf!) has been good to me so far. Hawk HPS is good too. I've heard good things about the Akebono ceramics as well. |
Has anyone tried Azone limited lifetime warranty with their ceramic brake pads? Jus curious how they work... I know you have to have some padding on the brakes to get free ones. Does 41.99 sound like a good deal from Az? |
I'd prefer the previously mentioned pads. |
where can I get em at(HPS)? |
I bought some durastop pads from Autozone once and returned them. The little ears that slide on the caliper bracket didn't fit right and would have required grinding. After thinking, I decided that I shouldn't put any brake pads that require grinding to fit.... They may not be Durastop pads your talking about, but these were around 30 bucks... |
Tirerack has HPS as well as Strano Parts and more. |
