Default Need new brake pads

What kind should i get? I want some hawk pads but i remember reading here that there was a certain kind of hawk pad that gave off alot of dust and squeaked alot. i want a performance pad that will last and not squeak much or give off alot of dust.

These would dust the least and give good performance from looking.

The HPS supposedly are low squeak but a buddy has them and they squeak a good bit on his C6.

The HP Plus squeak and dust like no other, but they bite real nasty Hope that helps

I run Hawk HPS pads with drilled/slotted rotors, I can tell you they will give you a bit of dust with usage however the only time I've heard any squeaking was when the dust was building up and needed cleaned off. Performance wise they grip well and have lasted longer then the stockers and another brand I tried.

HP Pluses are very, very dirty and do squeal on a pretty normal basis.... but man they stop.

HPS's do dust, but it's not horrible and cleans off easily. I have never had a set make noise. And remember that noises can and do come from things other than pad compound like sticking calipers, shims that are stuck, etc.

Ceramics are your best bet for clean. As most know Ceramic material is lighter than carbon based materials. We also have those pads as well.

My HPS pads dust, but only about half as much as the stock pads, and are easy to clean off, as Sam mentioned. And I have never heard them squeal.

i would look into the hawk hps pads. i have a set of those and they do stop pretty darn good. i have not had any squeeling out of mine. they do give off a little dust but it isn't bad as they mentioned a few times in this thread. i actually have another set of hawk hps pads (brand new in box, never opened) that i will sell. pm me if you are interested.
