Is My Torque Arm Bent???? *pics*

I was under the car tonight doing the relo brackets and glanced at the torque arm and did a double take. I've never bent one before or seen a bent one, so I want to be sure. It just seems twisted to me.

mine looks exactly like the first pic, so i'm kinda curious to find out too

If you are talking about the slight bow to the side nope. When they bend they wrinkle at the top from all pics i've seen.
Good test if it is bending, is it will throw off the pinion angle and cause a vibration. Have you gotten any new noises/clunks/vibrations?

Come to think of it I have noticed a new clunk, nothing else though.

Might just be the T/A bushing wearing out.

Itsin perfect working order

Looks normal to me. They do have that slight curve to them.

Another affirmation from me that the torque arm is fine.

AFA the clunk, when you get another chance to inspect the underside again, check all of your bushings to see if there is any evidence of tearing and if you have poly bushings, creeping (cold-flow). Also recheck if anything isn't tightened down enough.

I'll check everything out again under there ASAP. Thanks for your help guys.

looks normal to me,
that top will start to bend about 4-5inch up from the TA bolt upward

02Z28LS1 06-08-2008 04:33 AM

is it curved? yes
is it bent? no

looks normal to me

Looks perfectly normal. But they are weak and they twist. I would upgrade to a tubular t/a in the future, IMO.
