Default What's the difference between Duralast blank rotors and Brembo blank rotors?

The search feature isn't working, so...

A sponsor sells front and rear Blembo Blanks for $75 and $85 per rotor respectively. Autozone sells front and rear Duralast blanks for $40.99 and $43.99 per rotor respectively (with a two year warranty). (Even cheaper are the Valucraft front blanks which cost $29.99 each with a one year warrant.) Why do the Brembo blanks cost twice as much? I have a 2002 Camaro Z28 that is non-aggressively, daily-driven and will never see an autocross track. It will see the dragstrip at least once a year in a track-rental event. Will Duralast blanks be sufficient for my application? Thanks in advance for the info.

The Brembo's have better metal, they will work longer, quieter, cooler, and be more structurally sound. They won't warp as easy.

As a former AZ employee...NEVER buy Valuecraft! Junk to every aspect of the name. Duralast are ok for a small lightweight honda or toyota but I would never put them on a car like ours. They use cheaper metal, less machining, for a rotor that isnt perfect and will be noisy, just as Manic Mechanic listed.

Brembos are good quality from what I have heard but I have never seen them first hand.

Sometimes cheap stuff ends up costing you more in the longrun. Get the Brembos. You can get a whole set for $300 at the WS6store.

I've used the Duralast on both Trans Am's I've had and never had a problem. You sound like me and dd it and just use it to have fun in. I put 45000 miles on the first car before I sold it with no problems, current set has 10000 miles. Are Brembo's better? I'm sure they are, but by how much?

With their very low prices compared to the Brembo blanks, I think the Duralasts are worth trying out at least once, especially since they have a 2 year warranty. If the experience is good, then I'll definitely use them again. The savings just for rotors alone (compared to the Brembos) is around $150.

The top of the line Duralast ceramic pads cost $49.99 per set. I'll probably end up just getting them. I'll take the total money saved from buying the Duralast brake parts to buy a pair of Nitto drag radials.
