How did you install your bolt in sfc's?

Default How did you install your bolt in sfc's?

Looking for some ideas here, search wasn't much help to me.

anyone? I think thinking of putting jack stands under the a-arms or driving the car down the driveway and onto ramps. would any of these ideas work?

I put the front of the car on ramps and the back on jackstands. Installed the SFC's with the bolts snug, put the rear tires on blocks to make the car level, then tightened down the bolts.

what im going to do when i get them is have mine up in place, place a jack straight on the SFC, with a little pressure and weld them in nice

I used a lift i'd love to have them welded in though. i feel like the bolt in ones just arent nearly as tight as a welded one could be.

I did mine on a lift, but if you got drive on ramps....well drive up them and then jack up the rear. Get either some cinder blocks and put them underneath the rear tires or go to home depot or something and get some wood and build yourself some blocks fairly cheap. Or buy two jacks for the rear or four for the whole car...whatever you want to do, there are some options

Just an idea, i know it would work and you need to have the suspension loaded....well it's recommended.

just take a drive to the local shop and ask them how much it would be to borrow their drive on lift for a bit, you could even have them weld in the sfc after you bolt them up..

I hope you mean jack stands. You shouldn't rely on a jack by itself. A jack is hydraulic and hydraulics can fail (I've seen it happen). A jack stand is mechanical. Its stronger and much less likely to fail. I typically raise the car up. Put the jack stand in place. Adjust it the the right height. Lower the car onto the jack stand. Then re-raise the jack to touch the car again but not lift it. This way, I have the jack stand and jack both there supporting the car. Its extra safety.

Thats what i meant. I dont want him buying 4 actual jacks..my bad. I always use jack stands. Everyone should.

I use 4 rhino ramps. drive up on the front ones, then jack up the rear and let it down on the ramps.

I loosely bolted mine in place with the car on stands. then I put the car on the ground and tightened them all the way down. My car is stock height so its no problem to crank them down with it on the ground.
