Default Has anyone replaced their......

Front upper strut mounts? If did which is abetter replacement...moog, kyb, or ac delco? I have to replce my front strust and the nut is rusted so bad the upper mount wil be ruined when they remove it. The nut has to be cut because it will be stripped. If so where did you order from and how much did you pay...part numbers also please. Thx

I ordered mine through summit racing and they are the kyb strut mounts. Last I searched, I don't think they have them anymore. I think I ended up paying something like $40-50 each. I'd have to look for the receipt since it's been about 5 years or so. I really didn't need to replace them I just did.

EDIT:

$60 each. I paid less back then.

From the threads I've read about strut mounts, I would only go with OEM replacements. Some of the ls1tech vets strongly recommend against using any of the aftermarket replacements. I know they are expensive, but that's a part that I refuse to have breaking on me. Kinda like how I won't go with Fenco remanufactured calipers from Autozone no more... I stick with GM replacments.

I'm not sure if that also excludes moog...

The Moog's I bought from O'Reilly's over a year ago had the same problem most here complain about ... the blind nut spinning and not allowing the bolt to torque.

The solution is simple ... chunk the fanctory hardware and use 3/8" grade 8 bolts, washers and nuts.

Mine have been holding up fine and they've been on for about 4-5 years. I've never had any problems with them.
