I was wondering what theyre for, what they do, and when they are needed? If you are running aftermarket LCAs, are they still necessary? Are any of the different brands better than one another, or are they all the same? Thanks

THey move the LCA's slightly. THis allows the rotation of the axle (during a launch) to lift the weight of the rear of the car to plant the tires. It is just a method of increasing traction. THe bad news is that it can cause "brake hop", which is basically wheel hop, but when you are slowing down. In order to have this problem, you will probably have to be running sticky tires and upgraded brake pads. But, it can be a problem for some cars so I thought I should mention it.

Would you recommend using them on a daily driven car? The car hasnt seen much track time other than when it was pretty much stock, but I plan to take it more ofen when the conversion is done. Im just running some replacement pads from Autozone and Ill be running street tires on the street. The only time that I will be running sticky tires is at the track. Do you think that it will be a problem for me? Do these brackets really make a difference? If you had the extra money, would YOU buy them and install them on YOUR car? Thanks for chiming in!

Since I autocross and consider braking performance to be very important, I will not run them. I actually have more than enough brake hop as it is (and it is violent). However, if you are drag racing a lowered (or even non lowered) car, they work very well. If drag racing (formal, or impromptu) is your thing, they are a good idea. If you are into autocrossing/road racing they may just make things worse. It is a give and take situation, anything you gain in acceleration, will have roughly the same negative impact on braking performance. So, you go better, but potentially stop worse (or something like that). Again, this is not usually a problem on cars that are not running road race type tires (as opposed to wrinkle wall drag rubber). So, in your case, I'd probably run them, but on my own car I will not. It depends on what you expect from the car and what your goals are. That's all....
