Default Master cylinder rebuild kit

I can't seem to find any, but are there any master cylinder rebuild kits available for our cars?

I just put a new master cyl in a year and a half ago, I can pump up the brakes and it is solid, but if I keep some pressure on it, the pedal will go down. When I come to a stop it is spongy and if I back off and get back on the brakes, it seems to be OK. I would like to be able to rebuilt it cheap since I just bought it (can't find the receipt for warranty on it) and if this is not the issue, I don't want to lose much money on doing it.

Have you tried bleeding the lines again? It sounds like you may have a bubble or two in the line. Just a thought. I couldn't find a rebuild kit for you either, that seems odd.

I have bled the ever living **** out of these, every way you can think of.

This some weekend, I am going to replace all the crush washers, check all the bleeders/calipers, bleed the ABS/whole system, and see how that goes.

the only ones i think you can rebuild are the Mcleod ones. Once the stock ones go out you need to buy a new one. It sounds like you need to bleed the system some more.

So how many more liter bottles need to be pumped/gravity fed/vacuum bled/pressure bled before the air comes out?

Seems a little ridiculous to me, there is something else going on at this point. I have done this on so many other cars with no issues, so this leads me to believe there is some sort of part issue.

I know this chick named Sandy, she could...Wait, never mind. Just kidding, I just can't see a master cylinder going out that quick. Just seems that something else is wrong, and mere parts replacement will not fix your issue. BOL.

Yeah, I was mainly concerned about the fluid in the reservoir. I used synthetic and was wondering if it could have deteriorated the seals. There are a lot of people using it, including the *** with the orange and black T/A, so the seals must be compatible. I am going to go through everything again this weekend to be sure there are no leaks being introduced anywhere.

Of course, I really hope it is just a bleeding issue, that would be the best haha If that was the case, there must be some leak somewhere.

Old thread but I have an update, and others may be looking for the same. Any internet search may turn some up...

"At this writing, mid-September, 2011, the master cylinder repair kit for '98-'02 Camaros (PN 18029859 or ACDelco PN 175431) has been discontinued by General Motors and is no longer available from Chevy dealers, however, the ACDelco version of this part (PN 175-431) is still sold by RockAuto.com. Our research showed that in spite of listing the part as "discontinued" GM still had stock of this part in its Lansing, Michigan warehouse.""
