G2 springs + Koni SA 4/3 = rear bottoms out
I bought a set of Koni SA 4thG front, 3rd rear from Sam late last year. I set the shocks to the prescribed use for spirited daily driving (no track no autocross), and did not install them myself. I should have asked this sooner, but my 2K SS is not my daily driver. I just finished a cross country road trip and I bottomed out the rear right on most big bumps.
I know Im lowered with the G2 springs, but this is annoying. Shouldnt the shock be able to handle this? There is a chance that the installer fiddled witht he settings on install. What setting should the rears be? inorder to adjust the rear konis (3rd gen) I have to remove the shock right? (I hope not)
TIA

I have an aPHB along with LCA, LCA relo brackets, SFC. My rear end appears centered as I look at it on the ground.
I bump stop spacers were removed years ago.
Any other thoughts? I have a feeling that Ill have to tear this thing down to adjust something.
TIA.

I set the rear adjustment to full soft, as has been recommended by Sam and other board members.
I am also sure that the rear end hits the bump stops on chassis as there is a nice rubberized/ polished spot right under it on the rear axle.
When I hit a moderate bump, all other corners of the car are fine but I get a hard thump from the right rear. Should I be considering firming up the shock?
I know that Im close to slammed with the G2 springs, but Im considering returning to the 4x4 SS springs because im tired of the bottoming out.
any thoughts?
TIA

Are both of the upper spring seats in good condition?
Also are the lower spring pigtail ends indexed correctly(pointed toward front of car)?
OK, I looked over the adjustment procedure here:
http://www.koni-na.com/mono.cfm
Try 1 click from full soft.
If that only helps a little try 2 clicks,
if it helps a lot your done!
If it makes it worse, put them back to full soft and .
Then you can all so try cutting up to 1" max off the bump stops.

Aren't those G2 springs just re-badged Eibach Pro-kits? If so the spring rate is too soft for such a short spring and shocks aren't going to fix it completely. I'm experiencing the same problem on my Pro-kit rear springs with Bilstein re-valves. I'm going to order a set of BMR rears or do the heater hose mod on my stock springs to fix this problem. Call Strano parts and he'll explain what's going on. You'd be best off to just get the Strano spring set and call it a day.

I was having the same issue with my blown stock shocks and Pro-kit. I removed the bump stop spacer and it hasn't done it since. It requires nothing more than undoing two bolts and taking off the spacer then bolting the bump stop back on. There is no difference in SS, Z-28 or RS bumpstops. The SS's with 10spokes got the spacer.

I had G2s on a previous fbod with Bilstein HDs (all I could afford at the time and way too soft) and on decent sized bumps I'd usually rub a bit on the body on the inside of the fenderwell with a thud. Look for a clean spot forward and a little up from the rear axle, there is a part of the body that sticks out a bit. Its flat and the paint was rubbed off on both sides of my car.
